International road cycling races Minsk Grand Prix and Minsk Cup

The international road cycling races Minsk Grand Prix and Minsk Cup held in the Belarusian capital for the second time brought together 22 teams from 14 countries. The prestigious races included in the Euro Tour calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI) drew 150 athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Israel, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, China and the United States. Belarusian racer Sergei Popok claimed Minsk Grand Prix for the second year in a row, while the Belarusian cycling team topped the overall standings.

While cyclists competed for medals and prizes, the square near the Minsk Palace of Sports became venue for a no less intriguing contest for the title of Cycling Miss Minsk 2016. The charming participants of the pageant were to walk a red carpet and present a trendy look, demonstrate agility and stamina and show their photography skills by making a nice selfie with a champion. The sports festivities also featured a race of cycling veterans. Among its participants there were also young cycling enthusiasts.
