A commemorative plaque was unveiled in Marc Chagall Street in Vitebsk

A theatrical procession

On 24–26 June one of Belarus’ oldest cities marked its 1042nd birthday. In spring Marc Chagall Street was unveiled in Vitebsk in the run-up to the major festivities: the master’s name was given to a lane connecting Kalinin and Lenin Streets.
 
This is the place where the People’s Art College is located. The school was founded by the painter in 1917. Among the teachers of the college were famous artist such as Yehuda Pen, El Lissitzky, Kazimir Malevich, Vera Yermolayeva…
