First held in 1997, the international campaign Night of Museums has enjoyed immense popularity around the world and in Belarus. With the onset of dusk, visitors to museums can enjoy the mysterious atmosphere of the May art night: take a fresh look at familiar expositions and participate in fun activities, among which are costumed guided tours, interactive programs, educational quests, concerts, film premieres, fashion shows, meetings, lectures, master classes.
Organizers of the Night of Museums 2016 sought to strike the imagination of the most sophisticated art connoisseurs. For example, the National Art Museum of Belarus offered a glimpse into the future, the Belarusian Cinema History Museum organized a retro fashion party with fashion shows, Marc Chagall Art Center in Vitebsk helped comprehend the mysteries of Scripture, and the National Center for Contemporary Arts invited the guests to get reincarnated into famous artists and create copies of the most expensive paintings in the world.
