New Year football match in Gomel

Gomel celebrated the first day of the New Year with a football match between the teams of red-nosed and blue-nosed Fathers Frost. Partaking in the event were high school students and physical education teachers wearing red and blue fur coats, beards and sneakers. The event was dedicated to the 105th anniversary of Belarusian football: the first international match in the country took place in Gomel in 1910 (1911).
