Ded Zimnik welcomes guests in Ivye District

The magic forest on the bank of the Gavya River in Ivye District is inhabited by fairytale creatures such as Ded Zimnik, Baba Yaga, Kikimora, and Solovei Razboinik. According to a legend, Father Frost’s brother Ded Zimnik does not like those who complain about cold weather and gives health and wellness to those who are cheery and joyful. Local people believe that when Ded Zimnik goes out of the forest for a walk, severe frosts hit the region.
