Christmas Holiday Season in Belarus

Christmas Holiday Season in Belarus
6 Jan 2016

The Christmas holiday season in Belarus traditionally begins at the end of December (25 December - Christmas celebrated by Catholic believers) and lasts until mid-January (7 January -Orthodox Christmas, 14 January - the Old New Year).

The Christmas season in Belarus is always a memorable time for residents and visitors to the country. You can go on fantastically beautiful "snowy" excursions around the main attractions and enjoy a lot of other amazing staff during these few weeks: old Christmas folk rites, holiday tours to the residences of fairytale characters, theatrical shows, parades and processions of Fathers Frost and Snow Maidens, Christmas balls and secular parties...

The Christmas season, which starts long before the Catholic Christmas, does not subside for a minute: charity events, children's performances and festivals, fairs and exhibitions... Minsk and other cities of Belarus hold festivities and cultural events... Streets and squares festooned in Christmas lights become the venues of theatrical performances, concerts, interactive shows. Fairytale characters and animators entertain guests at glittering Christmas trees.
