Gerard Depardieu lays flowers at Belarus' Mound of Glory

The two-day visit was rich in events. Immediately upon arrival the French guest attended a concert of the Zhinovich State Academic Folk Orchestra. He started the next day with a visit to the Mound of Glory Memorial to pay tribute to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. And it was very symbolic, because on the trip to Minsk Mr Depardieu was accompanied by the producer of the new project dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory: the movie "Normandy-Neman" which will involve the filmmakers from Belarus, France and Russia.
