Independence Day festivities in Grodno

Historical truth and memory are the foundations of Belarusian independence, Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Karanik said at the opening ceremony of the Independence Day festivities.

The new awardees of the Book of Glory of Grodno Oblast were honored on 3 July. This year five new names were added to the list of awardees.

After that the Grodno Oblast authorities and the city residents laid wreaths and flowers at the monument to soldiers and partisans in Gilibert Park.
