Matvey Basov's exhibition "Space of love and light" in Vitebsk

The Space of Love and Light exhibition featuring the paintings by Matvey Basov opened at the Museum of the History of the Vitebsk People's Art School, a branch of the Vitebsk Center for Contemporary Art, on 10 July. Matvey Basov was born to an artistic family. His father and uncle were famous artists from the ancient Belarusian town of Mstislavl.

In 1964, he received the first medal at an international competition of children's fine arts in Italy and since then has been sharing his extraordinary and bright talent with his audiences. Matvey Basov is a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Belarus. His works are kept in museums and art galleries, private collections in New York, Washington, Chicago and San Francisco. The exhibition presents works from different years: from 1989 to new paintings created in the run-up to this year’s festival.
