The International Day of Peace was celebrated in Brest. The event was held at the Brest regional rowing center of Olympic reserve.
Brest joined this campaign in 2012. This year the participants planted cedars on the premises of the rowing canal and lit the lamps to make an improvised alley of peace.
The International Day of Peace is celebrated in the world every year, on 21 September. Instituted in 1981, in accordance with Resolution 36/37, the United Nations General Assembly declared it a day to strengthen the ideals of peace among all nations and peoples.
The event was organized by the Brest regional rowing center of Olympic reserve, the Brest city youth public association Nesledie (Heritage), the Brest regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Fund.
