FC BATE Borisov defeated Norway’s Rosenborg 2-1 in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on 24 July.
Igor Stasevich opened the scoring five minutes into the game capitalizing on a penalty opportunity. Andres Konradsen leveled at second attempt for 1-1. After a break Maksim Skavysh won it with an outstretched toe.
Norway’s Rosenborg is an 11-time participant of the Champions League group stage.
The second leg is due in Trondheim on 31 July.
Winners will take on either Slovenia’s Maribor or Sweden’s AIK in the third qualifying round.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Sarajevo await losers in the Europa League third qualifying round.
