2nd European Games in Minsk: Sambo

The competitions in sambo, one of the world’s most spectacular martial arts, were held in the Palace of Sports on 22-23 June. The competition was strong  with 144 athletes challenging each other in spectacular matchups.

Belarus was third in the sambo medal standings with 15 medals (three gold, four silver and eight bronze), behind Russia and Georgia.

Gold medalists of the 2nd European Games:

  • Aliaksandr Koksha (Men’s -68kg)
  • Vera Harelikava (Women’s-60kg)
  • Anzhela Zhylinskaya (Women’s-72kg)

Silver medalists:

  • Andrei Kazusionak (Men’s-90kg)
  • Yury Rybak (Men’s+100kg)
  • Maryna Zharskaya (Women's -52kg)
  • Anastasia Arkhipava (Women's-56kg)

Bronze medalists:

  • Uladzislau Burdz (men’s-57kg)
  • Ivan Aniskevich (-62kg)
