Youth project Marathon 75 kicks off in Minsk

“It is important to note that the research work within the framework of the marathon started as early as 9 May. Members of the BRSM Youth Union from all over Belarus started to gather information about members of their families who took part in the war and collect their photos. They also studied the biographies of the war heroes commemorated in street names, Heroes of the Soviet Union and full cavaliers of the Order of the Fatherland. It is important to preserve the memory about them, this is why we are making the huge Belarus Remembers canvass. We will also travel around Belarus with our unique album ‘Belarus Remembers. Dear Faces of Victory’,” First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union Dmitry Voronyuk said. “The marathon also includes various large-scale events, like the open-air events ‘Flowers of Great Victory’, dialogues Belarus Remembers where we discuss topical issues, for example, attempts to falsify the history. The youth should preserve the memory of the Great Victory. It is important to remember,” he added.
