Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Andrei Khmel said that the purpose of the campaign is to make people aware of air pollution. “The country has been doing a lot to combat air pollution. The efforts include cycling network development programs and construction of electric vehicle charging stations. I think that very soon the campaign will be renamed into Gas-Powered Car Free Day,” he joked.
