Belarusian Pioneer Organization celebrates birthday

The official initiation ceremony, the red necktie ceremony and touching words of the Solemn Promise ... More than a hundred school students from all over the country joined the ranks of the Pioneers on 13 September, the day when the Belarusian pioneer organization that unites over 650,000 Pioneers and Little Octobrists, celebrated its 28th birthday.

The festive events dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the country’s largest children's organization started with a flower ceremony at the Monument to the Pioneer-Hero Marat Kazei. More than 100 Little Octobrists from different regions, winners and prizewinners of the intellectual and creative game "Password is Little Octobrist: The Territory of Special Importance”, pronounced the Solemn Promise and had red neckties tied by the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, leaders, friends and partners of the pioneer movement. The event featured the performance of the Pesenka vocal group. It was followed by a ceremony to release hundreds of balloons into the sky and some creative events. During the Art Hour the new Pioneers had an opportunity to try their hand at designing and make their own benches that will be given to the regional departments of the Belarusian nationwide pioneer movement.
