These days in July Vitebsk is hosting thousands of guests. Even prior to the official opening of the Slavonic Bazaar, Chagall's favorite city is already living the unique, almost 24-hour rhythm of the festival.
The 24th International Festival of Art has brought together representatives from 41 countries around the world, and this is a new record for the festival. Since its founding the festival has welcomed artists from 70 states.
In the run-up to the grand opening Director of the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk Alexander Sidorenko was appointed President of the World Association of Festivals which the Vitebsk forum joined this year. This fact is another confirmation of the prestige and high international status of the Belarusian festival.
Certainly, the main achievement of the festival 2015 is its program which is even more diverse this year. In the morning the guests can enjoy the traditional expo of arts and crafts, fascinating creative events. Later in the day they can attend theatrical performances and, of course, the many-hour musical marathon at the Summer Amphitheatre at night. This year the Amphitheatre will host 6 solo concerts, opening and closing galas, song contests and other major programs. All in all, the playbill of the festival features 95 events involving approximately 4,500 artists.
