Miss Belarus 2023: the final of the national beauty pageant in Minsk

The final of the national beauty pageant Miss Belarus 2023 took place in the Sport Palace in Minsk on 8 September. As many as 24 contestants competed for the Miss Belarus 2023 crown. 

Thousands of people from all over the country turned up to see the colorful show and certainly root for the contestants. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko was one of the spectators.

As many as 24 girls competed for the Miss Belarus title in the final stage. A competent panel of judges chose the best girl. The panel of judges included the TV hostess Polina Shuba, the chief ballet master of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater Igor Kolb, the head of the National Beauty School Bozhena Yeremich, the Belarusian racing driver Sergei Vyazovich, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) Aleksandr Lukyanov, Director of the representative office of the interstate television and radio company MTRK Mir in Belarus Olga Shpilevskaya.

Eleonora Kachalovskaya won the Miss Belarus 2023 title. The girl is 23 years old. She works as a manager in the modeling agency in the National Beauty School. “Her life motto is don't just walk past. This is how Eleonora met her best friend, a puppy named Tiger, which she picked up in the street,” reads the contest’s business card.

By winning the contest, Eleonora Kachalovskaya also received a cash prize, a piece of jewelry, a Geely car and an unexpected gift from the Information Ministry – a collection of works by the Belarusian classic poet and writer Yanka Kupala. The thing is the girls had to answer questions of prominent Belarusian women during the final stage of the contest. An artist from the Yanka Kupala Theater asked Eleonora who the author of the Paulinka play is. The girl was at a loss due to trepidation and could not answer the question.

After winning the coveted title Eleonora said: “I am now sad and upset because I failed to answer such a simple question. Honestly speaking, I am ashamed.” The new Miss Belarus promised to read the play and definitely come to the Yanka Kupala Theater to see the relevant performance.

A special gift from the president – evening gowns – was an excellent addition to the gala night for all the participants of the contest. The girls put them on when they had to come out onto the stage.
