FC BATE Borisov and FC Barcelona faced each other in the UEFA Champions League group stage action at Borisov Arena on 20 October. Although all the bets were placed on a victory of Barca who put out a strong roster for the game in Belarus except for injured Lionel Messi, the interest in the game was big. Borisov Arena gathered 13,000 spectators and Belarusian football fans enjoyed a good game despite BATE’s defeat 0-2. The game in Borisov was refereed by Manuel De Sousa of Portugal.
