A new format of track and field events - Dynamic New Athletics - was used in the European Games 2019. The competitions were held at Dinamo Stadium on 23-28 June. Twenty-four mixed teams competed in sprint, hurdles, javelin throw, long jump, high jump and mixed medley relay.
Belarus bagged seven medals: three gold and four silver.
Champions of the 2nd European Games include: Elvira Herman (women's 100m hurdles), Maksim Nedasekau (high jump) and Tatsiana Khaladovich (javelin throw) who also won a license for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games
Silver medalists: Krystsina Tsimanouskaya (women's 100m), Vitali Parakhonka (110m hurdles) and Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova (long jump).
Belarus placed second in the team tournament.
