MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) - SCO observers have good impressions of the parliamentary elections in Belarus, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), head of the SCO observation mission Rashid Alimov said, BelTA has learnt.
“We have very good impressions. Today I visited six polling stations. I saw the mood of the people. People love Belarus and this unites them regardless of the views they uphold,” Rashid Alimov said.
The SCO observers are monitoring the elections in Minsk, Brest, Gomel, and Vitebsk. “Thus, we will have a broad picture. I think that the voters in Minsk reflect the general mood that prevails in the Belarusian society. This mood can be formulated as ‘we see our country as prosperous, stable, and people happy’. This is the most important thing,” Rashid Alimov said.
