Belarusian parliamentary elections was calm and well-organized, head of the PACE delegation Gisela Wurm told a press conference on 12 September, BelTA has learned.“During the elections on 11 September we sent eight groups of observers to Minsk and its suburbs, Vitebsk Oblast. Our observers noted that the voting was calm and
well-organized,” Gisela Wurm said.The head of the PACE delegation noted that a number of observes had questions to the procedure of counting ballots. “Nevertheless, the elections are not reduced to voting because they are a large-scale process. These parliamentary elections showed that Belarus as a European country needs competitive political system with strong political parties to utilize the democratic potential of the Belarusian nation in full,” she said.
