MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) begins monitoring the parliamentary elections in Belarus, reads the information posed on the PACE website.
The PACE delegation led by Gizela Wurm (Austria) will stay in Belarus till 12 September. During the election observation the mission will work alongside observers from the OSCE/ODIHR and OSCE PA.
The delegation is set to meet with leaders of political parties and their representatives, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission and representatives of civil society and the media.
So far, 19 PACE observers have been accredited in Belarus. The elections to the House of Representatives will be held on 11 September.
