OSCE observers thank Belarus for invitation to monitor elections, favorable working conditions

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Cayetana De Zulueta Owtram thanked Belarus for the invitation and the favorable working conditions, BelTA has learned.

“I would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Election Commission and the Belarus President Administration for assistance during our stay in Belarus that was quite long. The mission arrived in Belarus on 2 August,” Cayetana De Zulueta Owtram said.

OSCE observers thank Belarus for invitation to monitor elections, favorable working conditionsKent Harstedt, special coordinator of the short-term OSCE observer mission for the 2016 parliamentary elections in Belarus, for his part, welcomed the fact that no limits were imposed on the number of election observers. “I sincerely hope that in the future we will enjoy the same warm welcome,” he said.
