MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Mikhail Myasnikovich has been reelected Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. His candidature was unanimously supported at the opening session of the sixth-convocation Council of the Republic on 12 October, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikovich thanked the senators for the vote of confidence. “I assure you that I will do my best for the efficient performance of the Council of the Republic to promote the wellbeing of the Belarusians, ensure sovereignty and the national security of our country. All members of the Council of the Republic enjoy equal rights, and the Chairman of the Council of the Republic will prove his worth only if he respects every opinion and create conditions for productive work. We will make decisions together for the benefit of our country and the Belarusian people,” he said.
Mikhail Myasnikovich was elected Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus of the fifth convocation in January 2015.
Mikhail Myasnikovich has been awarded the Order of Fatherland of the 3rd Class, the Order of Honor, the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation, the Order of Friendship of the People’s Republic of China, the Order of St. Kirill of Turov, 1st Class, of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. Mikhail Myasnikovich also received three official letters of commendation from the President and certificates of merit of the Council of Ministers and the National Assembly of Belarus.
