MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – It is expected that the final results of the Belarus parliamentary elections will be announced by the week’s end, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told a press conference in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“I hope that on Friday we will be able to sum up the results of the elections. The first session of the House of Representatives will open within 30 days after the elections not later than on 10 October,” the CEC chairperson said.
Lidia Yermoshina voiced the preliminary results of the elections. She noted that as soon as the CEC prepares final results, more detailed information will be available.
MPs were elected in all 110 precincts. The voter turnout in the elections to the House of Representatives made up 74.8%. In absolute figures, 5,212,745 people cast their votes. “Yesterday was a calm day at the Central Election Commission. On 11 September the Central Election Commission (CEC) received 32 written complaints from citizens of Belarus,” she said.
