MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus were competitive and open, BelTA learned from head of the CIS election observation mission Sergei Lebedev.
The mission has prepared its final report which will be announced as soon as Belarus presents the official results of the elections. Sergei Lebedev informed the media on the main conclusions. “According to the CIS observers, the Belarusian government bodies and election commissions of all levels ensures a high organizational level of the elections,” he said.
“The elections were held in line with the Constitution, the Election Code of the country. They were competitive, open, free, transparent and were held in line with the principles of democratic elections,” Sergei Lebedev said.
The CIS deployed the biggest mission at the parliamentary elections in Belarus. The mission comprised 475 representatives of eight CIS countries.
