MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of several local executive officials on 15 October, BelTA has learned.
First Deputy Head of the Moscow District Administration of Minsk Tatyana Kolyadko received a promotion. She was appointed head of the Moscow District Administration.
“You are busy with the elections now. What are the issues here? What else should be done to conduct the elections up to par? We cannot show the lack of management. Celebratory atmosphere has always reigned at polling stations in Belarus. We should arrange this process as if it were a holiday, but keep in mind that these are elections, that we are choosing parliament members,” the president said.
According to Tatyana Kolyadko, parliamentary candidates should improve the quality of their programs and work harder to reach out to voters. She noted that municipal authorities are now preparing for the elections. Public catering outlets will traditionally get involved, too; consumer goods manufacturers will also present their products at polling stations. “Many polling stations will be located in schools. We are mulling over some festivities,” she added.
Anatoly Lukashov will take charge of Dubrovno District. At present he is Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on Agricultural Policy of the House of Representatives. Chairman of the Dribin District Council of Deputies Dmitry Pimoshenko was appointed Chairman of the Mstislavl District Executive Committee.
