MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) will analyze the proposals of international observers concerning the results of the parliamentary elections and submit a report to the President, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told reporters, BelTA informs.

“We will analyze the law enforcement practice which was used, the proposals of international observers. Taking into account all this, we will submit a corresponding report to the head of state,” the CEC chairperson said.

She also emphasized that the Central Election Commission is a law enforcement body which cannot serve as a subject of legislative initiative. “The instructions which the President will give to the Central Election Commission as legislative proposals (specialists will definitely handle them later) will be included in a new law,” Lidia Yermoshina explained.

When asked to clarify on the number of OSCE/ODIHR recommendations which were fulfilled after the previous elections, she said: “The main thing is to act in compliance with the OSCE recommendations. I think that large part of the OSCE major recommendations were fulfilled to a certain extent in the form of the law enforcement practice, the recommendations to the Central Election Commission.” Lidia Yermoshina also mentioned the free spirit of the pre-election campaigning which was also part and parcel of the election campaign.
