MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Central Election Commission (CEC) is set to adopt a calendar of the forthcoming parliamentary campaign on 8 June, chairperson of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina told media on 3 June, BelTA has learned.
“We expect that the decree on parliamentary elections will be signed on 7 June. The CEC will adopt calendar plans for the two election campaigns on 8 June. We should not forget about the upper chamber, the Council of the Republic,” Lidia Yermoshina noted.
In her words, the meeting will also consider the main documents pertaining to the first stage of the parliamentary elections.
Lidia Yermoshina took part in the BRSM Youth Union’s new project Generations’ Dialogue “Flowers of the Great Victory” which kicked off in Minsk’s Victory Park on 3 June. Partaking in the event were delegates of the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress on behalf of the youth from all Belarusian regions, labor and war veterans, MPs, scientists, politicians, businessmen, athletes, cultural figures and many others. The participants of the event discussed youth themes, suggested efficient solutions. It is expected that concrete proposals will be worked out for the discussion at the Belarusian People’s Congress.
