MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) - The Elections 2019 information center of Belarus' Central Election Commission (CEC) will open at the Palace of the Republic in the Belarusian capital Minsk on 17 November, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina told the media, BelTA has learned.
According to Lidia Yermoshina, the CEC info center will host the first press conference at 10.00 on 17 November. The information center will be located in the small hall of the Palace of the Republic. According to the CEC head, the location is easy to find for foreign journalists and observers for whom the information center is set up in the first place.
According to Lidia Yermoshina, there is no accreditation for national observers in the information center. “We would have then needed a stadium as we have tens of thousands of national observers. More than 500 of them have already been accredited in election commissions,” she said.
The first information center was opened at the presidential election in 2001.
The elections to the House of Representatives are scheduled for 17 November. The elections to the Council of the Republic are slated for 7 November.
