Belarus parliament elections

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The information coverage of the Belarusian parliamentary elections was active and comprehensive, Information Minister of Belarus Lilia Ananich told a press conference, BelTA has learned.

The minister believes that this parliamentary campaign had the most active mass media coverage. In her opinion, during the preparations for and holding of the elections national and foreign mass medial provided an extensive coverage of the real events in the country.

As many as 698 mass media representatives from Belarus and 25 foreign countries were accredited. Journalists did their best to provide as much information about the elections as possible, to help people make an informed choice and form a professional parliament, Lilia Ananich noted.

On behalf of journalists, the minister thanked the Central Election Commission for assistance in the information coverage of the election campaign.
