MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ Central Election Commission has received, according to the latest data, 84 sets of documents on the nomination of candidates to members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the sixth convocation, reads a statement posted on the website of the Belarusian Central Election Commission, BelTA has learned.
Most sets of documents have been filed with the election commissions of Mogilev Oblast (22), the least - in Vitebsk Oblast (2). According to the CEC, as of today 63 persons have been nominated candidates. Most likely, this figure will increase substantially in the near future, as the election commissions start receiving the documents from political parties and numerous initiative groups.
Nomination of candidates will last till 1 August. Their registration will be running from 2 to 11 August. The day after the end of registration the candidates will draw lots to determine the date and time slots of their appearances on state-run television and radio.
