ABU DHABI, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to develop cooperation in artificial intelligence with the UAE, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment, Managing Director of the investment fund ADQ, BelTA has learned.
"Artificial intelligence and its development are topics of my interest. Particularly development. Not beginning. It is important for us just like it is important for the whole world. I am very grateful to you that you have gladly agreed to share the knowledge and experience of development - both of your ministry and of those specialists who work in this area," the head of state said.
The president stated that he will do his utmost to promote this area in Belarus: "A foundation, the basis, people for it are available. I feel hopeful for the future."
Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that during his previous visits to the UAE, he attended various meetings and presentations dedicated to high technologies. "We discussed artificial intelligence in general terms, including the fact that this bloody artificial intelligence is going to take over the world soon. I put little trust in that. It turns out your specialists were right.," the head of state noted.
"I am absolutely sure that today's meeting will result in a good decision for the economy and the people of Belarus," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
