MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmer Ihar Boki has won his second gold medal at the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris. Now he has 18 Paralympic gold medals under his belt, BelTA has learned.
Ihar Boki proceeded to the 100m Backstroke final with the second best time of 58.97. On 30 August, in the final heat, the Belarusian clocked 56:60.
A day before, the Belarusian Paralympian clinched gold in the 100m Butterfly. Now the 30-year old athlete has 20 medals - 18 gold, one silver and one bronze.
At his first Paralympic Games, which were the 2012 London Paralympics, the Belarusian athlete won five gold medals. Later on he added six golds at Rio 2016 and five golds at Tokyo 2020 to his medal tally.
On 31 August, Ihar Boki, together with his teammate Yauheni Kavalionak will compete in the 400m Freestyle. The preliminary heats are scheduled for 11:20 Minsk time, and the final is scheduled for 19:40.
