MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China will hold Year of Education in 2019, Belarus’ Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said at a meeting with member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China Zhao Leji on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
“2019 will be declared Year of Education in Belarus and China. I believe that the opening of a campus of one of China’s leading universities in Belarus will be a good result of our joint work,” said Sergei Rumas.
The prime minister praised the successful practice of organizing a thematic year in bilateral relations. The main result of the Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China in 2018 is the agreement signed in Qingdao and a mutual visa-free travel for citizens of the two countries.
Sergei Rumas extended greetings to Zhao Leji on the occasion of the upcoming state holiday, National Day celebrated on 1 October. According to the prime minister, Belarus’ government pays great attention to the development of economic relations with China.
Zhao Leji noted that bilateral relations have a healthy and stable development trend. “China and Belarus are good friends and partners who constantly provide sincere assistance to each other. Under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, the bilateral relations of the two countries reached a new stage of strategic partnership, which is characterized by mutual trust and benefit,” he added.
