U.S. charity donates medical supplies to Belarus

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – A batch of medical supplies from the United States of America has arrived in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Humanitarian Affairs Department at the Belarus President Property Management Directorate.

The humanitarian aid is estimated at $1.1 million. “The medical supplies came as part of the cooperation agreement with Emmanuel Mercy Mission (Oregon State, USA). The humanitarian aid will be distributed among district healthcare facilities across the country. A request to exempt these medical supplies from customs duties and taxes has been submitted to the head of state,” the department informed.

Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Department Valery Skakun emphasized: “This is a good example of bilateral humanitarian cooperation, when one party is able and willing to respond to the needs of the other party.”
