Project goal:
• creating barrier-free environment for visually impaired people;
• teaching children to interact with people with disabilities;
• making children and people with disabilities familiar with the museum’s exhibitions;
• making the museum accessible to people with disabilities by introducing interactive technologies;
• promoting religious and cultural tolerance through interactive tours and programs.
Project tasks:
- equipping the exhibition halls of the museum with modern equipment (touch screens with audio and video materials in several languages: Belarusian, Russian, English, Polish, Chinese); purchasing a video projector and an acoustic system for events held in the museum, which will allow introducing interactive methods that will help attract more visitors to the museum and enhance their experience;
- equipping exhibits of the museum's exhibition halls with Braille, which will make the museum more accessible to visually impaired people;
- adding interactive models of some items to the exhibitions for better perception of information by visually impaired people and for interactive activities with children;
- filming and recording an excursion of the entire museum for on-site events in residential care centers for people with disabilities.
Target group: Residents of the Republic of Belarus and foreign tourists, including people with disabilities and low-income, single-parent, large, and socially vulnerable families.
Brief description:
Development of a virtual tour of the museum.
Development of inclusive cultural and educational programs with the help of methodology that recognizes all children as individuals with different learning needs.
Organization of mixed interactive excursions for schoolchildren and people with disabilities to teach children to interact with people with disabilities and make museum more accessible to people with disabilities.
Organization of interactive excursions for mixed groups of representatives of different confessions to foster tolerance and interpersonal interactions between representatives of different confessions.
Within the framework of the project, the museum’s exhibition halls will be fitted with modern equipment to harness interactive teaching methods. There are plans to purchase furniture and equipment, interactive technologies, a harness system for exhibits, directional lights, sound systems for exhibition halls, and software (an application for independent exploration of the museum’s exhibitions).
