Project background
In Belarus, older people are regarded as an object for help, whether they have health issues or not.
Teachers are educated people who throughout their lives and professional careers teach others, feel needed in the society, and keep “intellectually fit” (“by teaching others, I learn myself”). After retiring, these people are still willing to improve and keep up with the times.
So why not provide opportunities for retired teachers to continue to be full-fledged active participants in society, for as long as possible?
The project to increase the social activity of retired teachers is an opportunity for them to adapt faster to new living conditions, to keep engaged in an active life in society. It is also an opportunity to implement social projects, to harness the professional experiences of retired teachers in awareness raising campaigns.
Post-project activities: Thanks to the center, project participants will acquire new knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a person in modern life (the ability to work with modern technical means and information technologies; knowledge and skills that will help them increase physical activity and improve health), which will help improve the quality of life of these people. In the future, they will train other retirees, which will increase their self-esteem and expand their social circle.
Project budget: $50,000 (US dollars)
We look forward to collaborating with you!
