Project goal: To create conditions conducive to the conduct of treatment and diagnostic procedures using the latest medical technologies and advanced medical equipment; to improve the quality of treatment and diagnostic procedures, the availability of new diagnostic techniques for the population of Lyakhovichi District.

Project tasks: To improve the quality of service to the population of the district;
to purchase modern medical and diagnostic equipment.

- population of neighboring districts;
- foreign citizens.

Brief description:
To acquire a fiberotic bronchoscope (1 unit), a stationary high-end ultrasound diagnostic apparatus (1 unit), a video gastroduodenoscope (1 unit), a laparoscopic stand (1 unit);

To promote professional development of doctors (if necessary) by placing them into refresher courses and knowledge transfer programs.

For reference: Lyakhovichi District has the oldest population in Brest Oblast. The district can be classified as rural (about 60% live in rural areas). Over the past few years, the demographic situation in the district has been difficult, with the mortality rate rising (about 500 people per year) and the fertility rate declining. A number of treatment and diagnostic procedures are unavailable to local residents due to the lack of necessary medical equipment while the existing equipment is physically and morally outdated, which affects the quality of medical examination. Local residents have to go to other cities (Baranovichi, Brest, others) for healthcare service. However, not all patients (for example, the elderly, disabled, etc.) are able and willing to go to other cities for medical service. Often, an appointment wait time can reach several months while the number of appointments may be limited. This affects treatment, early disease diagnosis and also diagnosis at later stages, which reduces the life span of an individual.
