Children of Donbass: ‘We will remember Belarus as country with big heart’

Children of Donbass: ‘We will remember Belarus as country with big heart’

GOMEL, 27 December (BelTA) - A group of children from Donetsk and Mariupol holidayed in the Dubrovenka health resort in Mogilev Oblast. On the way back home they made a stopover in Gomel, BelTA learned.

Gomel prepared a lot of pleasant surprises, gifts and excursions for the children.

Davika Ternaya-Yarodskaya said that she will have the best memories of her vacation in Belarus. “We went to the swimming pool, we swam a lot, underwent a lot of good medical procedures. We liked Belarus very much. Wonderful nature, forests. I will remember Belarus will as a beautiful country with a big heart,” the girl said.

“In general, we had a great time, we recharged. We had a time-off from shelling. We had a lot of swimming, went on a lot of interesting excursions. Everything was super. Thank you very much for your support, for faith in a better future,” Kristina Kravchenko from Donetsk shared her emotions about the vacation.

Galina Krylova, chairperson of the Donetsk public organization of disabled people, disabled children and their families, is convinced: the children of Donbas will remember every step of the trip to Belarus. “Everything is very new for many children who traveled that far for the first time in their lives. Some even traveled by train for the first time. This is why there are a lot of emotions and impressions. Thank you very much. I was teary-eyed when we arrived, stepped on the peaceful land, now, probably, I will cry because we are leaving,” she sahred her emotions.

“When we came here, bad news started to come from Donetsk - the shelling started again, the lack of water again. We are grateful for experiencing a peaceful time, a period when there is no shelling, when there is water 24/7. It is re happiness that a child can go out for a walk and does not have to worry being caught up in shelling. So once again, thank you very much to the Aleksei Talai Foundation for the opportunity to see the beauty of Belarus,” Galina Krylova said.

She gave a message to the Belarusians: “Take care of each other, appreciate peace, because it is worth a lot. It is your life.”

The children became participants of the program on recuperation and rehabilitation of Donbass children in the Republic of Belarus, which is implemented by the Aleksei Talai Foundation with the support of Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, and Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia.
