Chernobyl Children International to expand its charitable reach in Belarus

 MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The Ireland-based Chernobyl Children International (CCI) will expand its charitable reach in Belarus. The matter was discussed during a meeting between the CCI founder Adi Roche and Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkyunas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The CCI provides humanitarian aid and support to Belarusian children and persons with disabilities. During the meeting, the sides touched upon a wide range of matters related to further expansion of the CCI’s operation in Belarus, including promising social projects for the Vesnovo care home for children with special needs, social assistance to Minsk and Gomel families with children with special needs, and ways to involve the Irish organization in the events to be held in the UN HQ in April 2018 to mark the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chernobyl Children International reached an agreement to maintain close contacts.
