MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian doctors and nurses in Syria treat an average of 30 patients per day, a senior resident, an allergist-immunologist of the pulmonology department of the medical service Pavel Shpak said, BelTA informs citing the press service of the Defense Ministry.

According to Pavel Shpak, the field hospital that was set up by Belarusian doctors in Syria’s Aleppo provides inpatient care to victims of the earthquake. “We provide medical assistance to an average of 30 patients daily. Most of them are people suffering from pneumonia. This is understandable, because many Syrians were left homeless and had to spend the night on the street. Some even had frostbite,” said Pavel Shpak.

According to the Belarusian military medic, local residents having chronic diseases also apply to the field hospital. These diseases  include diabetes, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and others.
