Belarus to host 458 Syrian children for recuperation, sports activities

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The reserve fund of the Belarusian president will provide financing to host 415 Syrian children at the national children’s education and recuperation center Zubryonok in May-June 2019. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a corresponding executive order on 12 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The program of stay includes recreation and recuperation services, excursions, cultural, sports and mass events in Minsk and Belarusian regions.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also signed an executive order to finance the participation of 43 junior athletes from Syria in joint training camps at the Belarusian Olympic reserve school in April 2019. The program of stay includes sports and recuperation events, excursions and cultural events in Belarusian towns.

Belarus welcomes Syrian children as part of agreements to promote humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and in order to enhance Belarus’ positive image in the world.
