Belarus to deliver 15 more trucks with aid for refugees on border

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) will supply 15 trucks of humanitarian aid for refugees on the Belarusian-Polish border, FTUB Chairman Mikhail Orda told the media on 15 November, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Orda stressed that Belarusians have always lent a helping hand and have never stayed aside from others' problems. “Our generation is the same. Today we follow the traditions of the older generation,” he said.

The Federation of Trade Unions has already delivered seven trucks of humanitarian aid to the Belarusian-Polish border. This week, another 15 trucks will go there, said the FTUB chairman.

Public organizations, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus have been supplying humanitarian aid for refugees for the last week. We will be constantly monitoring what needs to be delivered. Today you can see the mood of the Belarusians: they are ready to give away everything they have. This is our character and mentality,” Mikhail Orda said.

On 13 November, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to streamline and organize the delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid to refugees at the Belarusian-Polish border. According to the Council of the Republic, more than 18.5 tonnes of food, almost 4,000 pieces of warm clothes and blankets were delivered to refugees las week.
