MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – Syria will get 50 MAZ buses as a gift from the president and people of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“On the instructions of the Belarusian head of state, Maksim Ryzhenkov handed over symbolic certificates for 50 MAZ buses to the Syrian leader. These buses are a gift to the Syrian people from the president and people of Belarus. They will be produced and delivered to Syria within the next three months,” the ministry said.
Leader of Syria's new administration Ahmed al-Sharaa said that Syria intends to dramatically reform its transportation sector. Thus, the Belarusian buses will certainly come in handy. The possibility of assembling buses and agricultural machinery in Syria as well as other projects were also discussed.
A reminder, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov is on an official visit to Syria.
