MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) still has the opportunity to send its observers for the election in Belarus, Anatoly Glaz, a representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a briefing for the press, BelTA learned.

“There are insinuations regarding the invitation to the OSCE/ODIHR to observe the election. Just so you know, a corresponding invitation was sent to the ODIHR, which was confirmed by the ODIHR on 17 January. They still have the opportunity to come,” Anatoly Glaz noted

At the same time, he noted that for the Belarusian side the OSCE/ODIHR’s decision is not of fundamental importance as more than 450 international observers from 49 countries have already been accredited to observe the election.
