MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The OSCE/ODIHR interim report may turn into the final document with any conclusions, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina said in an interview to the Belarus One TV Channel on 6 October, BelTA has learned.
“I believe that at present this report represents a document that, if desired, may be turned into the final report with any conclusions. That is why it is so neutral. This document is a basis. It is similar to a short black dress for a woman which can be spoiled by a mourning scarf or decorated with a chic necklace. We do not know what we will have in the final. I think it is a preparation for another [final report]. Few positive points if any can be found in it. There is no negative either yet. The rest will be written,” said Lidia Yermoshina.
According to the CEC head, as a lawyer she does not like references to anonymous sources in reports of the kind. “Nothing can be worse than anonymous opinions in such documents. It deprives you from the opportunity to protect yourself or refute the arguments,” she noted.
