MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – International observers believe that this year’s election campaign in Belarus will be fateful for Europe, Lidia Yermoshina, the chairwoman of the Belarus Central Election Commission (CEC), said in an interview with the RTR-Belarus TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The messages we get from future observers today (and they are explicit) say that there is huge interest in the election. They believe this election campaign is fateful not only for the country but also for the system of relations they would like to see in Europe,” Lidia Yermoshina said.
According to Lidia Yermoshina, previously observers tried to fit the not-ideal situation into some made-up ideal standards. Today the politicians have realized that any freedom and democracy must stay within certain standards of morality and should not threaten the neighboring countries.
