MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – In recent years, the cooperation and friendship ties between Vietnam and Belarus have been growing stronger, President Truong Tan Sang of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam said in his letter of congratulation to Alexander Lukashenko on his re-election as President of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The letter reads that, on the basis of traditional friendship, Belarus and Vietnam have been actively implementing cooperation agreements reached at the highest level in such fields as political affairs, economy, trade, culture, education, security, and defense. The free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union provides Belarus and Vietnam with new opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Belarusian head of state continues to receive congratulatory letters on his re-election. For example, Alexander Lukashenko has recently received greetings from Georgia President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Syria President Bashar al-Assad.
