MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Every Belarusian citizen must go to the polls, presidential candidate Nikolai Ulakhovich said in his radio speech on 25 September, BelTA informs.
“Citizens that will cast their vote should understand that they fulfil their civil duty. They should take part in the ballot. They must show their viewpoint,” said Nikolai Ulakhovich.
According to the candidate, if the voter does not take part in the ballot, it means apathy which has nothing to do with tolerance. “The idea of a Belarusian being tolerant and inactive is wrong. I have seen a lot of our compatriots working abroad, including in Russia. They are all highly valued as good specialists, as people with a pro-active attitude,” he said.
Ulakhovich expressed confidence that every citizen would come to the polling station. He added that certain powers hope it will not happen and would like to show this election in an “absolutely different dimension”. The candidate criticized such opposition. In his words, those who say that there is no election process in Belarus are wrong. The politician added that the “Belarusian opposition comprises national patriots who have no people supporting them.”
